https://doi.org/10.56943/sujana.v4i2.1079Digital media increasingly mediate informal parenting education, yet the discursive reconstruction of Qur'anic parenting values remains insufficiently explored. This study examines how parenting values derived from Surah Luqman (31:13–19) are communicated through Husain Basyaiban's YouTube video “Ilmu Parenting dalam Al-Qur'an,” published in 2023 and analyzed in 2025. Employing an interpretive qualitative single-case design and Fairclough's three-dimensional Critical Discourse Analysis, the study examines manually transcribed video content, linguistic strategies, and contextual features of digital religious communication. The findings identify seven interrelated educational values: theological grounding, emotionally responsive communication, worship, social responsibility, patience, humility, and respectful communication. The affectionate expression yā bunayya and contemporary terms such as fatherless, motherless, and masterpiece parenting demonstrate how scriptural teachings are linguistically adapted to contemporary parenting concerns, although such adaptations may introduce conceptual ambiguity. The discourse also combines informal storytelling, digital communication practices, and a stronger emphasis on prospective fathers while acknowledging broader parental responsibilities. The study contributes to scholarship on Qur'anic moral education by explaining how religious parenting values are reconstructed within digital discourse. Its single-video design limits generalizability and does not establish audience learning outcomes or behavioral change.
